Welcome to the Atwell Scout Group

Our group was established in 2004 and is located in the Scouting district of Beeliar .

We operate from the Banjup Community Hall in Oxley Road, Banjup.

The hall is located at the southern edge of Denis de Young Reserve, an 84 hectare 'Bush Forever' site.

Our Scouting sections are each under the guidance of a trained leader(s) and parent helpers.

Our members get to experience a diverse range of activities and to develop a range of skills, including bush craft, survival, cooking & leadership - all whilst having fun and making new friends.

As well as the learning and fun activities within our hall, members participate in many off-site events throughout the year, either arranged by our leaders, or a combined event with many other boys and girls belonging to the same scouting section, from around the metropolitan area, or even State wide.

We welcome new members, both children and adults.  At present our group has a good balance of boys and girls as active members.

We encourage parent involvement whether helping out with an activity (including getting involved and sharing in the fun), helping with a fundraiser (such as helping at a sausage sizzle) or attending meetings of the Parent Committee.

You could also become a leader - a rewarding and important role.

Parent Helpers & Assistant Leaders - No Experience Necessary

We would love to have you involved in one of these highly rewarding positions. Training is provided by Scouts WA with guidance from our experienced Leaders. All of our leaders are mums and dads, many without prior Scouting experience.

Please visit the Leaders & Helpers tab on this website, or discuss directly with one of our leaders if you would like to know more!

About Scouting

In simple terms, Scouting is about giving young people opportunities to have (lots of) fun through adventures, challenges, etc whilst helping them to develop life, survival, leadership & team skills, build self-confidence and make new friends.

There are five youth sections based on age - with each operating a Scouting program designed for their particular age group.

Young people can join at any stage of Scouting and we welcome both boys and girls.

You can find more comprehensive information about scouting including its over 100 year history by visiting websites such as ScoutsWA.
